With a somewhat weird title, the film is about Jackie and his guide Branch Rickey. Jackie has been signed by Brooklyn Dodgers team and he is the first African American player in the team setting the break on color barrier in the play. The film shows mainly the social environment in America during 1947 and struggle of Jackie to come out of the racial race and prove his mark.

During 1945, while at a gas station Jackie is refused to use the washroom. Jackie insists on finding another gas station to fill the team bus. At that time a member from Dodgers meets Jackie to invite him to the Brooklyn. Ricky himself has sent the team member to contact Jackie in any possible way. Jackie is given offer of paying $600 per month for contract and separately $3500 as a signing amount. Rickey Warns Jackie to control his short temper during the play and not to break any of the game rules.
In 1946, Branch Rickey (Harrison Ford), owner of the Brooklyn Dodgers, took a stand against Major League Baseball's infamous colour line when he signed Jackie Robinson (Chadwick Boseman) to the team. The deal put both men in the crosshairs of the public, the press and even other players. Facing unabashed racism from every side, Robinson was forced to demonstrate tremendous courage and let his talent on the field wins over fans and his teammates – silencing his critics and forever changing the world by changing the game of baseball.
