As a theatre play about the life of an ancient Iranian mystic awaits its contemporary premiere, old sentiments arise.
“I am God”, said Mansour Hallaj and refused to answer the questions his statement provoked. Instead, he calmly awaited his execution. Eleven hundred years later, modern playwright Nader follows in Hallaj’s footsteps. A tragic history repeats itself, once again accompanied by a curious crowd and an accepting silence.
