Sing Street

Actions of the movie happen in the eighties last century in Ireland. Conor Lolar — the simple guy who lives in the southern part of Dublin together with parents, the sister Ann and the brother Brendan. In a family there come hard times which compel parents to reflect on effective economy of means. As Conor studies at prestigious school for which it is necessary to pay much, the decision to transfer it to the most usual school was made. Here only the new educational institution is Catholic where strict rules and orders reign, and pupils are forbidden to express the opinion somehow. In additives to all this, Conor faces cruelty of schoolmates who don't want to accept the beginner and in every possible way scoff at it. However all these problems pass into the background after the guy meets the real beauty Rafina for the sake of which attention he decides to create band.
A boy growing up in Dublin during the 1980s escapes his strained family life by starting a band to impress the mysterious girl he likes.
