The Action film "K-19: The Widowmaker" based on a true story, is set in the 60-ies of the twentieth century. In the midst of cold War rivalry between two powerful reaches climax. Early United States descends to water new submarine with Polaris missiles. Response of the Soviet Union becomes the first Soviet nuclear submarine k-19 missile with ballistic nuclear missiles.
The Commander of the submarine NAVY officer appointed Alexei Vostrikov, who will have to battle exercises on the high seas. After reviewing the task operation "Polar circle" Vostrikov reports to his superiors that considers this kind of exercises are premature, but the order of the Marshal is not discussed. Together with the team captain Vostrikov quickly prepares the ship to immersion and sent to do the job.
