When Troy Mascon was young, he was a basketball player and earned a lot of money, but the glory didnít last for long. It is a problem for African-American to find a job, so it was for Troy. Once, he could get a job as a garbage collector. He had to accept it and worked hard for the happiness of his wife and son.

Troy, the main hero of the film Fence, is sure, that he has to make a good life for the family and he gets disappointed if his wife and son need more than what he thinks is enough. The main character always suffers of new problems, for example, with racial discrimination. He chooses a job instead of holidays. Will Troy be able to keep under this pressure and not let the family break?
