Actions of the historical Thriller "300" unfold in parallel with the Actions and after the movie 300 Spartans and talk about opposing the Greeks a powerful army of Persians, led by the cruel King, the hubris of himself as God, by Kserks. 480 year BC. The Greek King Leonidas decently kept defenses with his soldiers, but was defeated by the Persians.

Xerxes continues attack on Greek lands to conquer all cities. Based on Frank Miller's graphic novel, "300" is very loosely based the 480 B.C. Battle of Thermopylae, where the King of Sparta led his army against the advancing Persians; the battle is said to have inspired all of Greece to band together against the Persians, and helped usher in the world's first democracy.
